Damien Moore is calling on the people of Southport to support the town’s small business community on Small Business Saturday this weekend.
Small Business Saturday exists to support and promote small business on the first Saturday in December each year. Last year consumers across the country spent an estimated £717m with small business on Small Business Saturday.
Britain’s highstreets are under increasing pressure from internet competitors. Damien Moore has been campaigning to support small businesses. Internet giants will be taxed on online sales and business rates for small business will be slashed by a third after a successful budget proposal from the Southport MP was included in the Autumn Budget.
Damien Moore said “As we are gearing up for Christmas, residents should take this opportunity to visit their local small businesses and shop locally. Southport offers a bespoke shopping experience and you are sure to find something unique.
Small businesses are the heart of our community and the lifeblood of our town’s economy. Last year I was delighted to tour our town’s small businesses on Small Business Saturday. I am happy to support them this Saturday and beyond.”
